ADVOCAP is proud to recognize Mark Burns, Instructor of our GED/HSED Program, who was one of five nominees for Moraine Park Technical College 2024 Workforce Development Champion Award. This award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to strengthen workforce skills and support lifelong learning in their communities.
Mark’s commitment to the success of his students is unmatched. He not only teaches — he mentors, guides, and supports each person throughout their educational journey. He meets students where they are, helping them overcome barriers and achieve their goals, both in and out of the classroom.
Through his work, adults in our community are gaining the tools they need to earn their GED/HSED, opening the door to better job opportunities, higher wages, and further education. Mark’s dedication reflects ADVOCAP’s belief that education is a key to a brighter future, and we are grateful for the impact he continues to make every day.
Congratulations, Mark, on this well-deserved recognition. And congratulations to all of the nominees who are making positive, lasting impacts. Thank you, MPTC, for recognizing the great work being done by individuals and organizations in our community.
