Communications Coordinator – Fond du Lac

ADVOCAP, Inc is an established, recognized leader with over 50 years of experience in delivering effective anti-poverty and self-sufficiency programs and services. We are a private, nonprofit Community Action Agency committed to our mission of “creating opportunities for people and communities to reduce poverty and increase self-sufficiency.”

As ADVOCAP’s Communications Coordinator, you will play a key role in developing and implementing communication strategies that enhance our brand presence in the community. You will work closely with various departments to ensure consistent messaging and support our marketing and public relations efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with Program Directors to assist all ADVOCAP programs in creating communication strategies and provide templates for webpages, brochures and social media content with focus on engagement on a consistent basis.
  • Responsible for overall agency communications including development of media relations.
  • Create and manage content for ADVOCAP’s website, social media platforms, digital signage and press releases
  • Develop and maintain all printed materials and brochures.
  • Maintain an online events calendar and promote ADVOCAP events and programs.
  • Coordinate publication and distribution of ADVOCAP’s Annual Report.
  • Assist with the tri-annual agency-wide Needs Assessment.
  • Assist in database management including data entry, mailing lists maintenance, report generation and compliance support.
  • Work collaboratively with Program Directors in developing and maintaining an agency newsletter.
  • Work on special projects under the direction of the Executive Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field.
  • Must be a strong communicator; must have excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills; must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience publishing content on websites and social media channels.
  • Must be a creative and strategic thinker with good judgment, and the ability to make independent decisions in a changing environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Word Press, Survey Monkey, and Visix is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and travel. Occasional travel using a personal vehicle will be required.
  • Drug screen and comprehensive background check required.
  • Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic.
SALARY & BENEFITS

This full-time position will work 36 hours per week, four, sometimes five days per week. Starting wage is $21 – $22 per hour. This full-time position will have access to health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, vacation, sick and holiday pay, and our employer 401k contribution.
