Head Start Health Services Manager – Fond du Lac

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for ongoing monitoring of the HS Department’s operational procedures that relate to Health & Mental Health.
  • Responsible for training new staff on health procedures, mental health procedures, & forms
  • Work closely with the administrative assistant for data entry
  • Responsible for accuracy of information entered in CAP60 for the health, mental & disability component areas
  • Obtain and Maintain CPR trainer certification
  • Ensure enrolled children with extensive health needs have a health plan in place
  • Train all Center staff on the implementation of health plans
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards relating to health and mental health, DCF childcare regulations, as well as YoungStar requirements.
  • Ensure that program staff are up to date on CPR/1st Aide, regular physicals & any other staff health requirements
  • Create & maintain community partnerships to provide required medical, mental health, & dental services to enrolled children & families
  • Be able to speak publicly & train adults on topics relevant to Head Start or Community Action
  • Possess strong communications, planning, team development, leadership, & event organizing skills
  • Ability to work early morning & evening hours as well as occasional Fridays and weekends
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college/university in a health-related field (nursing, nutrition, etc.) early childhood, or related field and 2 years of previous work experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and travel regularly in FDL and GL counties up to 50% of the time using a personal vehicle
  • CPR certified or willing to obtain; obtain or possess Trainer certification
  • Class Observer certification
  • Physical/TB/drug screen and comprehensive background check required
  • Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic
SALARY & BENEFITS

This full-time position will begin early August and will work 36 hours per week, Monday—Thursday with occasional Fridays and weekends. Starting pay is $23.03 per hour but is negotiable. This full-time position will have access to health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, vacation, sick and holiday pay, and our employer contribution 401k.
