Head Start Staff Participate in Child Care Advocacy Day in Madison

posted April 17, 2025
ADVOCAP Head Start staff proudly joined fellow child care and education professionals in Madison for Child Care Advocacy Day. Advocacy Day gave us the opportunity to speak directly with policymakers and share stories from our classrooms, making sure the voices of our children and families are heard. We were honored to stand beside passionate leaders from across Wisconsin to advocate for the future of early education.
Head Start is more than a preschool program, it’s a foundation for lifelong success. We help prepare children for school and beyond with a focus on learning, social-emotional growth, and development. At the same time, we support families through a holistic approach that uplifts the entire household, empowering families who are working toward self-sufficiency.
ADVOCAP Head Start alone supports over 200 children in Fond du Lac and Winnebago Counties. Over 90% of our families are working or in school and depend on Head Start to help them create a more stable foundation for their household. This program is vital to healthy, stable families and communities. A reduction in funding would greatly impact our economies and quality of life for our neighbors.
Supporting the future of Wisconsin’s children means advocating, educating, and investing in programs that work. Thank you to Wisconsin Head Start Association (WHSA), Wisconsin Early Childhood Association, Wisconsin Department of Children and Families, and Raising Wisconsin for organizing this important opportunity.
