Community Action in Action

Founded in 1966, ADVOCAP is the designated Community Action Agency for Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Winnebago Counties in Wisconsin. Nearly 1,000 Community Action Agencies operate in almost every county across the United States, working locally within a national network focused on reducing poverty and supporting stability.

Community Action Agencies respond to local needs through a wide range of programs and partnerships shaped by the communities they work within.

ADVOCAP is a nonprofit organization rooted in our local communities, with programs shaped by the needs of people across Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Winnebago Counties. We are driven by our mission to create opportunities for people and communities to reduce poverty and increase self-sufficiency.

Our programs focus on housing stability, homelessness, food security, education, workforce opportunities, business development, wellness, and volunteerism.

 Our Local Impact

The impact of ADVOCAP’s work reflects the combined efforts of community members, volunteers, partners, and staff across Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Winnebago Counties. Each year, this work supports greater stability for our neighbors and communities as a whole.

In 2024, ADVOCAP supported 6,486 individuals and 3,099 families in working toward stability.
